Ghislaine Maxwell said she “feels bad” for Prince Andrew and accepts that they can no longer be friends, in her first interview from prison since she was convicted of sex trafficking.

Speaking with CBS and Paramount Plus, the 60-year-old said she understood why the Duke of YorkThe lawyers had to downplay their friendship.

“I feel so bad for him,” reports The Sun who told the interviewer. “I’m following what’s happening to him.”

After a trial earlier this year, Maxwell was found guilty of luring girls to massage parlors for disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein harass, between 1994 and 2004.

Speaking for the first time from prison, he said: “I accept that this friendship cannot outlive my belief.

“He is paying such a price for the association. I consider him a dear friend. I care about him.”

The former socialite went on to say that the now infamous photo of her, Andrew and a young Virginia Giuffre (above) is not genuine.

Prince Andrew resolved a request for civil sexual assault presented by Ms Giuffre earlier this year. He has always denied any wrongdoing.

But she added that “many women can identify” in falling in love with someone they regret.

Maxwell, who was transferred to a low-security prison in Florida in July and is appealing to his convictionspoke to the media on two occasions, according to The Sun.

The first interview was conducted at the New York High Security Detention Center, where she was held after her arrest, and the second in Florida.

He spoke of a plot to kill her while she was in prison in New York, according to the Daily Mail. “As you know, there was a woman who made a threat, she said she had a plan to kill me while I was sleeping.

“But everyone here [in Florida] so far he has been extremely professional and I have not suffered any of the serious violations of my rights that I have suffered at MDC [New York].. I don’t feel insecure. And I’m perfectly capable of living and working here. “

The plot was first revealed in court proceedings last summer.

Prison documents confirmed that it was moved to FCI Tallahassee this summer.

According to a prison consulting firm, inmates are able to do yoga, stage talent shows and watch movies.

Maxwell also talked about her trial during the interview, saying he had turned her into a “Disney character evil witch”.

He also described his friendship with former US President Bill Clinton as “special”, adding that they had “a lot in common”.

Maxwell said that, as with Prince Andrew, he accepts that they can no longer be associated. But she said she felt “honored” when former President Donald Trump wished her good luck before the trial.

Describing how “they mixed in the same circles”, he said his words were a “big boost”.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison following her arrest in 2020.

Epstein was found dead in his cell in a federal prison in Manhattan in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
