The body of a 12-year-old girl who went missing was discovered Friday inside a suitcase in Paris with her throat cut and numbers on the body, according to a report.

The girl’s parents reported her missing to police on Friday night after she never returned home from school in the French capital, according to French news bulletin BFMTV.

The father, a caretaker of the building where the family lived, told police he saw his daughter in CCTV footage of the building with a woman in her 20s, the report said. The woman was then seen carrying a suitcase out of the building.

Investigators searched the basement of the building where the family lived and uncovered evidence of kidnapping, according to the report.
