NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill‘s milestone 100th IPL match didn’t result in a win for the Gujarat Titans, but the team’s captain was pleased with his squad’s resilience during their challenging chase against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The Delhi Capitals narrowly held off Rashid Khan’s late surge in the final over, securing an intense four-run victory over the Gujarat Titans.
In the final six balls from fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, Gujarat Titans needed 19 runs.
Rashid Khan, remaining unbeaten on 21, struck consecutive boundaries from the first two balls and a six from the second-to-last ball, but the team ultimately finished at 220-8 in yet another high-scoring IPL thriller this season.

Following the match against the Delhi Capitals, Gill, who became the second-youngest player to surpass 100 IPL matches, shared a one-word message on his social media account.
‘Grateful,’ Shubman wrote.

At 24 years and 229 days old, Shubman became the second-youngest to surpass the 100-match mark in IPL history.
Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan holds the record as the youngest to reach this milestone, having played his 100th IPL match at 24 years and 221 days old.
Indian batting star Virat Kohli played his 100th IPL match at 25 years and 182 days old.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson and Piyush Chawla rank fourth and fifth in the list, having played their 100th matches at ages 25 years and 335 days, and 26 years and 108 days, respectively.
