NEW DELHI: Pakistan’s talented young cricketer Ayesha Naseem made the decision to retire from all forms of cricket at the age of 18.
According to reports in the Pakistani media, Ayesha took this step in order to align her life with the principles of Islam.
“I quit cricket and want to live my life according to Islam,” Naseem reportedly told the PCB.
But the PCB has yet to confirm the news.
Ayesha represented Pakistan in 30 T20Is and 4 ODIs and scored 369 and 33 points respectively.
Known for her hard hitting and ability to send the ball over the boundary with long sixes, Ayesha has already earned praise from Pakistani legend Wasim Akram.
In January 2023, the 18-year-old cricketer showed off her explosive skills in a match against Australia, where she netted a 24-run rapid-fire with just 20 balls. His impressive innings included three sixes and a limit.
Taking to Twitter, Akram praised the young sensation and described her as “serious talent”.

The 18-year-old’s sudden retirement has sent shock waves through Pakistani women’s fraternity.
